Canberra patient forum - Queen's birthday weekend

Postby RobertTownsend » Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:02 am

ACT MPers. those from Southern New South Wales and further afield have a chance to meet up on the Monday of Queens's Birthday weekend in Canberra. We are holding a patient networking meeting for patients, their carers and families, on Monday June 14. This will be held from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm at the University House, Balmain Crescent, Australian National University.

Meg Mangin from Chronic Illness Recovery ( http://chronicillnessrecovery.org/ ) will be joining via a videoconference link and will explain her group's services and answer patients questions. We also expect that some of the doctors attending the seminar earlier in the weekend will stay over for the Monday patient forum.

There will be a sign in the foyer directing attendees to the correct meeting room. Lunch will be served around 12.30 pm.

I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in organizing this forum. Well done!

It was helpful to have Meg available to explain about CIR. Of particular interest for me was to meet Dr Dodd. Her willingness to update us on the current thinking among Australian "MP doctors" and answer our questions was great. Of course, meeting other local people on the protocol was a highlight.

Thanks again for your efforts ... Cheryl
