Canberra Get Together

Postby Cheryl » Wed Jun 16, 2010 7:02 pm

At the Patient Forum last weekend Robert mentioned that he'd been asked about the possibility of another gathering in Canberra. As I enjoyed meeting others face-to-face who understand what it's like to be on an Inflammatory Therapy, I thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Is anyone interested in a fairly casual get together to chat and swap thoughts/information on a regular basis? I thought maybe once a month at, say, a cafe? I'm open to all suggestions, especially, about what days/times would be best for you. So I can get a feel for where might be a fairly central location for us to meet could you please include you suburb. Could you also indicate whether you would be willing to assist/need assistance with transport .

I look forward to hearing from you ... Cheryl

Hi Cheryl

Lionel Forbes asked me about future meetings. He is not a member of ACIAD, and, as he was an "early adopter" of the MP back in 2005, he is not on curemyth1 - he is only on the original MP study site. Lionel's email address is listed on the MP study site as lforbescanberra@yahoo.com.au and I don't think he would mind you approaching him by email.

Margaret Zerbes ( I think from Ulladulla) was also at the Canberra meeting - she is a member of ACIAD ( you can find her by looking up our member list - she is member MargaretZ - you could PM her - but I think Ulladulla is a bit far away. As this ACIAD forum has not been very busy - many people have not bookmarked topics and forums so might not be aware of your suggestion. So it is probably worth PM-ing Margaret - she is about one year into the MP.

I shall also go through the MP study site to see if I can find any other ACT members - there was Robyn's son ( now back at high school ) and there were a couple of other CFSers. I shall check the study site to see if they are still on the MP

Best regards

Hi Robert,
I will PM both Lionel and Margaret. While Ulladulla is about 2.5hrs drive away, many coastal residents travel to Canberra fairly regularly.

I also posted on the CuremyTh1 Aussie members forum. Trevor Marshal replied saying he'll be opening up membership to the Marshall Protocol study group for 1 day next week. If I remember to check :? (ah, the joys of brain fog) I'll join and post on the main site as well.

Hope the weekend hasn't had any heath/IP repercussion for you. I know how tiring it is to put meetings like this on. In a previous life I was involved in organizing functions like this. These days I'd be hard pressed to organize my way out of a wet paper bag

Best wishes . . .
Cheryl
