Alternatives to NoIR Medical Lenses and Frames

Carl Zeiss Australia provide a range of 100% UV glasses in various levels of visible light reduction. These glasses do not have infrared protection.  They are considerably more expensive than the alternative of wearing Fitover style glasses supplied by Compoundia. Ziess can also make up these UV protection sunglasses to provide magnification to meet an optometrists prescription requirements.  These prescription lenses are ground in Germany, so supply in Australia takes a few weeks.  The advantage of this alternative is that the prescription lense can be ground to suit any style of frame and the patient can avoid having to wear contact lens underneath sunglasses.  Many optometrist stock Carl Zeiss products, and there may be other brands which also provide 100% UV shielding.
