For accurate results frpm a 1,25D test, the patient's blood sample must be settled and clotted for at least 30 minutes,  and then centrifuged and frozen within a few hours of collection, either at the collection centre or a nearby laboratory.  Formerly the most reliable method for and Austrlaian MP patient was to go to the blood collection centre attached to the public hospital in each State which had become the main and generally only place where 1,25D analysis was carried out.  At that time the only private pathology group undertakling 1,25D testing was Sullivan and Nicolaides in Brisbane.

For 1,25D (pmol/L) - divide Australian SI pmol/L by 2.4 to get it in pg/ml (USA measurement).

For 25D (nmol/L) - divide Australian SI nmol/L by 2.5 to get a result in ng/ml (USA measurement)
